1 file testing

I have avast4.7. How do I test just 1 or 2 files instead of having to test entire computer for viruses?

Right click on the file/folder and in the context menu, choose scan with avast.

If you are downloading these files many download applications, etc. have a means to have the file scanned by your anti-virus. If yours does then assuming that you installed avast! in the default folder, this is the path needed to scan downloads, C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe
