1 Year and Counting

It first started when I got my first laptop ( Im 14 now) for my 13th B-Day. I got an Averatec 3200 series notebook. A few days after I had gotten it Norton Antivirus said I was infected with a virus and it could not fix it the virus was Win32. Bloodhound.exlpoit 6. I took it to my uncle who was the go to guy at the time to fix it. He fixed it (with no help from norton) so he switched me to avast! and ever since I have been virus free. But 7 months after my first notebook it broke so I returned it for a newer model of the same kind. I liked it but then 3 months after that a few pixels died so I took it back and bought an HP package for a great $1000 dollars (US) it came with a notebook, a digital camra and an all in one printer, all made by HP. On all 3 computers I have gotten in the past year and few months I have always been replacing Norton Antivirus 2004, Norton Internet Security 2005 with the latest version of avast! antivirus always keeping it up to date with the latest virus definitions and program updates and have not been happier. All in all I will never replace avast with Norton Antivirus as long as it stays good with the free protection and the awesome detection because I am not allowed to buy anything online. I just wanted to thank Alwil Software for providing this program for free and keeping it the best free antivirus. Good luck in the SC Magazine Awards 2006 Alwil. After all of this I have had avast! antivirus for one year and could not be happier. But now I know more about computers and know how to deal with such infections. I can’t be any happier with avast.1 year and Counting!

avast could only replace NAV but not the firewall that you’ll have with NIS. 8)

 A very good site that has info on good & FREE programs,
etc to protect a computer is “Newbie and Oldie’s list” at :

I understand that avast1 does not have a built in firewall like Norton Internet Security does but I really don’t need one, because I have a firewall on my Linksys and for extra protection I use Comodo Personal Firewall.
