After updating to v 2015.10.2.2214, avast still says there’s a newer version (2015.10.0.2214). If I click on “update” avast says no need to update, it’s up-to-date, but the “new version available” message doesn’t go away…
I haven’t still updated mine to 2015.10.2.2214. I still have this version 2015.10.2208 and my avast is showing that 2015.10.0.2214 is available. It’s just not only you many users are facing this. Only one user who updated from the previous version of avast via the Avast GUI got the 2015.10.2.2214.
Try doing this:
Uninstall your current version of Avast via add/remove and follow the instructions.
Download the avast uninstall utility and run it in windows safe mode and follow the instructions.
Install a fresh new copy of Avast and follow the instructions. Once it gets installed it will do a quick start up scan and once that is done reboot your computer manually.
Register your copy of Avast.
Click on manual program update and see if it’s still showing 2015.10.0.2214 or not?
Best guess will be that there’s a or ongoing issue with the update server. We shall wait for an confirmation from an avast member.
I guess this 2015.10.0.2214 hiccup is causing a bit of grief, I have seen another one already. Though I don’t exactly know how this might be corrected; possibly an avast repair first to try and correct out of sync information.
I have the same problem. I tried to update definitions which was already updated & reboot my machine. then message disappeared, no problem now. After upgrade Avast FREE AV, I watch my pc runs more faster.
