110709-0 virus definition. Am I alone?

Currently, it’s saying that I have the outdated virus definition version 110709-0.

I try to update but the virus definition remain the same. So I’m stucked with the 110709-0 version.

Am I the only one who have this issue or anyone else has the same issue like me?

When you try to update, is it saying that it is already up to date ?

If so - Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.

I have the same problem.

I am told that I have current version 110709.1 , that the database stands at 2,574,134 definitions, when I try a manual update I am told I am up to date, and although I have set for auto updates, the green update notification tab has not been popping up.

I have just completed a reinstall of Avast…having uninstalled this same version via the clean-up tool and doing a clean install…in an effort to resolve the problem, but it persists.
I then read the this thread and have followed the suggestion from…DavidR…alas the problem yet again persists.

caledoniannorm you are on the latest DEF’S so there is not going to be any popup telling you about new updates unless there are any, you also only get the popups for the auto updates and not for manual one’s.

Good morning craigb and thank you for your reply, and for your reassurance that my Avast is up to date.

Yes, I appreciate that the green pop up is associated with auto updates…my wording above was not very clear, I only meant that I have not been aware of such a pop up for a day or so and had thus attempted manual updates. Obviously, the pop ups have been happening whilst I have been otherwise engaged.
Thank you again.

Your welcome

Now it looks like it’s up to date.

Thank you
