I had a problem and used the repair function ( https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=197813.msg1372852#msg1372852 )

I have MBAM installed but, it’s NOT resident. What’s going on ???
MBAM is a companion to your AV.

It is plain and simple and you as “helper” should know the answer.
Malwarebytes is not just a PUP/PUM scanner anymore.

And has been explained many times already, you need to set a exclusion in avast for it and visa versa.

Guess you didn’t read the post.
MBAM is not resident on my system. Simply having it installed doesn’t mean it will slow down the system.

In both posts there is nothing mentioned about slowing down !

And yes, Mbam is resident on your system.
If not, your signature is not correct.

Signature corrected. The point is that it’s not an AV it’s not resident and doesn’t therefore interfere with Avast.
Offer advice how to set the exclusion not a warning about un-installing.
To me, stating that not removing it will effect my computers performance, certainly indicates an inference to slowing things down.

When i installed Malwarebytes with avast, my system was 100% slower, boot time double… and i has real time protection disabled in malwarebytes. So i will never install this product again.

I’m actually looking from a reply from Avast with a fix for this.

There are 2 variants of MalwareBytes … The free one, which you use just to fix issues. And the Paid one which I think does include an Antivirus as well. That said, you should not run 2 antivirus programs at the same time. On my laptop (toshiba) I disabled Windows Defender and use just Avast free version. My desktop also uses Avast free … MalwareBytes is installed if I need to fix things, as is SpybotSD and SpywareBlaster, both of which just do immunization of bad sites. They do not need to be running to do this.

You’re mistaken. MBAM paid is not an AV.
Still waiting for Avast to reply.

That’s why I’m still waiting for a reply from Avast. They obviously know the answer.
Actually in today’s terms, everything is classified as Malware. There isn’t any clear distinction
any more between Malware and virus.

Can I still run Malwarebytes alongside my Symantec, McAfee, etc.? Certainly! We built Malwarebytes 3.0 to be compatible with all major antivirus software, even Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials.

The new version of malwarebytes, although advertised as a new generation antivirus and is displayed in the center of security as such, is not an antivirus, as we know, and remains compatible with the rest of antivirus like Avast.

But for the others, to avoid interference, must be excluded in each product, the installation folder of the other, as she is always recommended

That’s the main reason I uninstalled MBAM 3.0 for good. I can’t be bothered putting as an exclusion. Might be out of exclusion if there’s any program updates to MBAM and again I have to put an exclusion to MBAM. MBAM isn’t an antispyware program it’s a full antivirus program. For me Avast Free (latest version) is good enough for me :). Back in the years MBAM was a antispyware/adware program but not anymore, back then I used MBAM along with Avast Free.
