2 computers

???I`ve got Avast downloaded on 1 computer and was wanting to no if I can download it onto my other computer.

Depends.
What version of Avast?
How (for what purpose) do you use the systems?

If you are talking about the home version (and you qualify for non-commercial use for both computers) and they are in the same household, then you need only register once and use the registration key that is send to you on the second computer also.

If you want or require the avast! Pro version, you will need a licence for both computers.

you’re sure honest… ;D
which is a good thing, of course.

greetings from,

tim

Why an user come here, ask a question and never comes back? ::slight_smile: ???

Well some people would just register to post and read it as a guest and move on. ;D

I moved my operating system to a faster computer.
I have Avast home edition. I looked up the key from the first computer, and copied it into my second. The second computer would not accept it.

What do you suggest. Should I down load a new account?

Thank you,

Joe

Just register it again.

Where did you get the key from?

If you tried to copy the key from the licence window or the about avast that won’t work. If you copied it from the email that was sent to you by avast, ensure that you didn’t copy a space at the end of the key.

The easiest solution is to register again avast! 4 Home Registration

This is something I've wondered about too. My MAIN computer crashed . Had to Format HDD so NO Avast! After getting back online I had to download a Firewall, ZA pronto ! , then Avast! Home ED. and re-registered . In the downtime I put a Older computer online and downloaded/ installed/ registered, the free version of Avast! , but wasn't absolutey sure I was doing the right thing. Neither computer is or can be online simultaneously ( just the one dialup line ) so I assumed it was o.k. ???

You can have the home version on more than one computer in the same home, providing they both qualify for non-commercial use and you can use the same key on both.

The key will only work once.

What do you mean?

When you register avast! you get your own avast! registration key, it will only work on 1 computer.

I’m using avast home on 2 pc’s . Registered on 2 different e-mail address just to be sure. One is my daughters pc.

No. You can use on more that one computer IF you’re in the same HOUSE for HOME and NON-COMMERCIAL use.

Incorrect, see below. I wouldn’t have said it was OK to use the home version on more than one computer unless I knew it was correct!

Q: I have "avast! 4 Home" installed on my home computers and have entered the same license key on all of them. Does using the same license key on more than one computer harm the avast! functionality or updating capabilities in any way?

A: No, it doesn’t. The registration of “avast! 4 Home” is implemented due to processing statistics. The same license key on more computers (provided they are used for non-commercial purposes and in home use only) doesn’t harm the avast! functionality or ability to update in any way.

Sorry.

Sorry.

I thought this because I tried installing avast! onto a windows 95 computer, and the key never worked, so I just left it… I didn’t use it really.

avast! works into Windows 95 and the key too.
Are you sure you don’t have an installation problem rather than a key trouble?
