2 questions about Avast! 4.5

hello

  1. avast 4.5 has transparent mail scanner - can it scan mails over protocols using SSL ? (pop3s, smtps, etc ?)
  2. when I’m downloading by Mozilla compressed file, avast does’n check this file, how to activate scanning compressed files ?

Not sure about 1, so I’m not gonna answer that one.

2] Add the extension of the file to the list of extensions to be scanned in the on-access provider. See if that solves it.

does it work in Home (Free) ED ? I can’t find this option

on-acces control panel > standard shield > customize > advanched

tnx, but it doesn’t work …
zip (and other compressed files) can be scanned only when:

  1. you recive it by mail (or you try to send them)
  2. you try to decompress files
  3. you try to execute executable files inside compressed file

I tried to change this rules, bu I couldn’t …
