We have been running the Avast 4.6 for servers trial for a while now with no problems. But this morning users access to files was extremely sluggish. Rebooting did not resolve the issue, and we were unable to terminate the on-access scan. We were only able to regain functionality by disabling all Avast services, and rebooting. Eventually we turned those services back on and things seem to be functioning fine for the moment. The only event in the log that seems to correlate with the time of the problem is a virus definition update. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
