That is worse than the fact you couldn’t run chkdsk on what should be the rare occasion that you might need it. I can’t recall the last time I ever needed to use chkdsk and I’m talking many years.
Having no protection is far serious than the possibility of having a windows file that is possibly corrupt and could be recovered by the chkdsk process.
As has been suggested ensure that you are using the latest build 10.3.2225.
