[2015.10.3.2223] Avast prevents chkdsk to run

Okay I tried check disk on my win 7 64 bit system with avast version 10.3.2223 and it would not run. I did an avast clean install to version 10.3.2218 and now check disk works.

I was going to do win10 update but now I feel I must wait till avast is truly fixed.

Avast 10.3.2225 and Windows 10 are working without problems on my computers.
There’s no reason to wait to do your upgrades.

I too have had the problem of chkdsk not running with AVAST. After uninstalling AVAST chkdsk runs no problem.
I hope they find a fix soon as I am running my computer without virus protection.

That is worse than the fact you couldn’t run chkdsk on what should be the rare occasion that you might need it. I can’t recall the last time I ever needed to use chkdsk and I’m talking many years.

Having no protection is far serious than the possibility of having a windows file that is possibly corrupt and could be recovered by the chkdsk process.

As has been suggested ensure that you are using the latest build 10.3.2225.
