Then it restarts and tries to install chrome, even though it’s been discontinued with no further updates from Google in Windows XP & Vista
The whole thing is pathetic
The start of the Chrome installation was caused by a promotion from Google for it.
It is mentioned by someone from avast in a other thread.

Not sure what you mean by promotion - I thought Chrome was obsolete in XP and Vista ?
What is the point of having a setting for Program Update when avast just ignores it and does what it likes?
Is the update from 2261 > 2262 so critical ?
