eva_74 has:

W98
Avast (probably Home) installed a few days ago
Firefox (probably v 2.20 compatible with W98) and probably IE v 6
Tiscali (Italian)
Thunderbird

eva has the Avast Standard Shield working but not the Web Shield
and she wants to get Avast protection for Thunderbird emails

My set up is similar so I am trying to help eva but I lack expertise.

Threads often do not stay “nearby” very long. Can you provide a link?
If you attempted to provide one with … Avast, Thunderbird and W98 (by eva_74) … it does not work.
