2u.com help

I recently ran into a malware program (2u.com). I did some research and it seems to be a relatively old virus yet Avast Internet Security did not find it. Also there was a recycler virus ( I am not sure of the file name) and Avast did not detect it either. I had to manually delete them but I am not sure if it is completely gone. How can I be positive?

First it would have been helpful to have sent the samples to avast as they may be variants of the old viruses.

e.g.
Send the sample/s to avast as a Undetected Malware:
Open the chest and right click in the Chest and select Add, navigate to where you have the sample and add it to the chest (see image). Once in the chest, right click on the file and select ‘Submit to virus lab…’ complete the form and submit, the file will be uploaded during the next update.
Or
Send the sample to virus (at) avast (dot) com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a link to this topic might help and false positive/undetected malware in the subject.

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).

Don’t worry about reported tracking cookies they are a minor issue and not one of security, allow SAS to deal with them though. - See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie.

Thank you. I wasn’t to sure how to send it. I will send it to you guys immediately.

I always keep a backup of every virus I come across. It’s a weird habbit.

No problem, glad I could help.
