32 bit or 64 bit

This may be a stupid question. :-[
Is there a difference between a 32 bit or 64 bit version of avast.

Did a clean install of latest version ( 10.4.2233), downloaded full installer from forum.
check with task manager shows 32 bit version installed.

Using Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 Bit

No, avast only have one installer that covers both

Should it then install 64bit for 64bit OS? I have 64bit OS, but Avast seems to be 32bit.

I think 32 bit also covers 64 bit, someone will correct me if I am wrong

32bit programs can run on 64bit os

If 64bit was needed they would ofcourse have made it

Where required it will install 64bit drivers to work on 64bit OSes, whilst the rest of the program executables should be able to run OK.
