32 or 64 bit

Hi I have a windows 8.1 64 bit laptop and avast is using most of my cpu. In task manager it says Avast 32 bit do I have the wrong Avast installed?
Sorry if I sound stupid but not up to speed with all this lol

No, most applications (or parts of it) are still 32 bit.
Some even (or parts of it) are still 16 bit.
