is it wrong to stick with 4.8 even though 5 is out? I’ve had 4.8 for a while with no issue or viruses and feel like theres no reason to upgrade. Is the security that much better, or about on par?
thanks

You’re going to get a bunch of conflicting answers to that question. Some seem to be having no problems with the new version, but there are also some who are. For my 2 cents, and I’m using 5.0.418, if you are happy with the way 4.8 is working for you, I would hang off moving to 5 for a while in the hope that Awil will find a solution to make success with the new version more uniform.
4.8 was very good and a hard act to follow. Is the security much better with the new version. I’m sure there will be those who will be quick to say yes, without actually having any real evidence that it is. I never had an infection get past 4.8 on any of the PC’s I had it on, so in my particular instance security wise it’s hard to improve on that.
I’m using 4.8 and likely to continue doing so for a time yet.
My security appears solid, 4.8 works very well, I feel no urgency about changing.
I’m fine with both version, but now I’m using the 5, so it is nicer for me.
is there any comparison table for 4.8 vs 5.0?
i just love 4.8, is there any reason for moving to 5.0?
viruzth,
Try here: http://www.avast.com/comparison-chart#tab3
And see if avast 5 has new features from 4.8 you already has
