Hello everyone,
When i was online yesterday I clicked on a craigslist ad’s link and a trojan was found according to avast. I deleted the temporary file since i wasn’t allowed to move it to the chest (it was a J.S Redirector-B[trj] and in C:\documents and settings\debbie\local settings\temporary internet files\content.IE5\X5T331G8\style[2].css) and performed a boot time scan and it said 46 files were infected. Then when i did a standard scan with avast it said over 11,000 files were infected but when i checked the avast infected files list i have 406 files and in all chest files i have 411. I noticed after i did the 2 scans my memory space went down significantly on my “C” hard drive from 202GB to 198 GB. Should i delete all of those files, some, or none and from the “virus chest” or the “all chest files”? I have Windows XP professional and 2 drives on my computer, a “D” drive which was from my old computer inside of it and the “C” drive which was infected yesterday. Both are infected. I have mostly win32:spyware-gen[trj]. Here are the main examples of the infected files since putting all 406 would be too much:
60832520.exe locared in D:\program files\czo8v9uc
win32:adware- gen[adw]
wintB.cab.vir located in C:\program files\alwil software\avast4\data\mov…
win32:adan-025[adw]
wsup.exe located in D:\documents and settings\all users\application data\aol\user profiles\all users\antispyware\dat\quarantine\2005121521393…
win32:spyware-gen[trj]
it can’t be restored it says for this one
~16967.tmp located in D:\documents and settings\barbara\local settings\T…
win32:wintool-B[trj]
Should i delete them or will i cause damage to my windows xp professional file? What should i do with all those files?
