[5.0.418] Crash in AvastSvc.exe (c0000005 ntdll.dll)+ update glitch

I’d like to report a recent crash I had with Avast! 5 Free.
Windows claims to be related to ntdll.dll (info in Spanish):

About the update glitch: in my version, if you right-click on the tray icon and select any of the two update options (UI opens), and then you close it down before the update process finishes, the next time you try to open the UI with double-click on the tray icon, it will attempt to update again and again EVEN if the previous update had succeeded.
This behavior continues until you reset the computer.

There is more convenient method to cancel this behaviour: when update process is started in UI pressing Cancel button in UI turns this behaviour off.

I can see “guard32.dll” module on the stack, right above the crash tool place… maybe something from Comodo is interfering?

Yes, it could be. I have Comodo Internet Security (Comodo Firewall + Defense+) installed

I’ve found it cancels it until you open avast! again… :

What you have to do is switch to another page, like the summary page, close avast! and then re-open it. that way it opens on the summary page and doesn’t try to update again…
