5.1.889 False positives, end-of-file and path not found errors

Hi All,

After installing the 5.1.889 update I find that aVast has trouble scanning some files and also reports 2 viruses that I think are false. As for the 2 viruses, they are files and I can’t do anything with them. I mean that any action I want to take I can’t Apply the action, the Apply button is disabled (grayed out). As for the end-of-file and path not found errors this is what aVast reports: Error: Reached the end of file (38) and Error: The system cannot find the path specified (3), funny that the path not found errors are all for aVast files. I did not have these problems until after the update to 5.1.889.

Thanks for the link, that explains the file not found errors. I am still looking for an answer to the end of file errors.

could you post a screenshot of the message

Since you don’t give any information about the end of file message, e.g. the full path to the file, etc. then no one can answer that.

However there is nothing to stop a forum search for Reached the end of file (38) as this has no doubt been discussed before.

Hi DavidR,

Yes, I did a search and I did see a post from igor stating there is a problem with [Emul] files. I had to expand my summary window but I did see that I too had these errors on [Emul] files. igor stated that he would fix the problem in an update within a few days so I guess I will have to wait.
