5 Infected files - Could Do With Some Desperate Help!

Hello to the people who can help!

I had a virus come through to my computer earlier this week, so we downloaded Avast, recommended by a friend. Now we have done a scan and have 62 infected files, 51 of which being this ;

File Name; C:\ System Volume Information\restore(73460C12-61E7-4209-86EB-D325A6F3AE41)-.…

And the Virus ; WIN32:Zlob-ABQ[trj]

This seems to be the main one, do i need to worry about this?

I also have another 4 of which has a different virus and file name;

File Name; C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
Virus Name; win32:Axload [trJ]

File Name; C:\ProgramFiles\Video Active X Access
Virus Name; WIN32:ZLOB-ZK[trJ]

File Name; C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
Virus Name; WIN32:CHANCRYPT

File Name; C:\Documents and settings\mlmcdermid\local settings\temp\ avast4
Virus Name; WIN32:ZLOB-XV[trJ]

If you could help me with this, it would be much appreciated, as i am needing desperate help to get my computer back up and running!

I am sick of my typewriter :cry:

Thanks Very Much

Hi mlmcdermid,

Looks like mostly adware/spyware you have there.

Try the usual free adware/spyware scanners.

AVG Anti-Spyware Free (Requires Win2k/XP)
Ad-Aware Free
Spybot Search & Destroy
SUPERAntiSpyware Free

Download, install and update the programs. Disconnect from the internet (pull the plug) before running scans in Safe Mode if possible.

Always select the option to quarantine any malware found rather than delete it, then you will be able to restore files or registry entries wrongly identified as malware- a rare but not unknown event for any malware scanner.

Thank You Very Much! :slight_smile:

Any Problems i will get back to you

Appreciated! :smiley:
