60 days trial but still asking for subscription

Hi,
i have jst downloaded avast internet security as a trial for 60 days( entered my card details)
Still after running scan , to fix the issues its asking to buy the subscription.
Why it is happening…any ideas?
thanks!!

It’s an offer to purchase Avast Cleanup Premium which isn’t a standard inclusion with Avast Internet Security https://www.avast.com/compare-antivirus

Avast Internet Security (AIS) doesn’t include the Avast Cleanup Premium (a paid service) isn’t included in AIS.

You have the free version of Cleanup which only reports, to fix the issues you have to have the paid version.

There are other taster elements of Avast paid products that aren’t included in the AIS installation, if you did a default (not custom) install and ran a Smart Scan all of these would be run in the scan.

Note, you can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI → Settings → Personal Privacy

This isn’t an ad as such, the user ran a scan (probably started with a Smart Scan) and followed up the results with “Still after running scan, to fix the issues its asking to buy the subscription.”

Afaik, changing the settings should stop it anyway (paid versions) - not sure about the trials, though.

I don’t think so, this isn’t an Ad. Having run the Scan and then selected the Fix the issues you are going to get the Purchase/subscription screen.

I might add (excuse the pun) I completely disagree with this method, only components that are completely free or included in the paid version purchased should be installed and only then can/should they be run as part of the Smart Scan, no bait and switch.

As said, not sure about the trial version (never tested it). Else, I totally agree with your comments.

The thing is that it isn’t asking to purchase the AIS 60 day Trial version, but the Cleanup Premium.

To all intents and purposes this would/should act in the same way for the 60 day trial of AIS as the paid version of AIS, or there is little point in trying something that doesn’t act in the same way.

There isn’t any difference between the trial and the paid product outside of the expiration date.
