64-bit OS and/or QuadCore versus 32-bit and DualCore

Just wondering whether Avast Pro’s performance will differ when using a 64-bit OS and/or quad-core versus the 32-bit DualCore platform on which it is running now.

The only real difference as I see it, would be that the boot-time scan isn’t available (yet) in 64bit OS versions. You might see a performance improvement depending on other system resources, faster CPU, RAM, HDD, etc. but functionally it should be the same.

It is hoped that boot-time scanning will be available in avast 5.1, early next year.
