I have just accepted the 7 day trial for Avast Secureline VPN as I have used Avast Free for many years.
I have no intention of buying this facility, just curious how it works and how good it is.
The good news is that I like the ease of access - it can be pinned to the taskbar as an icon and it does hide my identity splendidly.
Essentially I like it very much.
BUT the time taken in surfing - selecting sites - takes ages. It is simply not practical to have such lengthy delays between searches.
My ordinary IP is fast in response.
NO - Avast VPN is regretfully OUT after the 7 days are up. ! The free included VPN in Opera is excellent with NO adverse effects whatever on response.
On reading all the posts on here stating a large variety of problems with VPN, I reckon I will not miss it.
Windows 10/1903
PC is a desktop 12 months old.
Edit - It generally takes 20 - 30+ seconds to respond on a search and has taken over a minute on several occasions.
My chosen location is Amsterdam, the same as my Opera VPN.
At around $80 or £60 per year it is a joke !
