I know about the developer build, but I tend to stay away from those (for the same reason I gave on the NightlyBuild Add-on) as my firefox isn’t a test bed.
Me too, but TMP is an exception. Its “development build” for Fx 3.5 is mature and was ready for primetime even before Fx 3.5 was released. It’s been heavily tested throughout the whole development of Fx 3.5 and hasn’t even needed a bug fix since May 16. For some reason the TMP developers don’t release their builds to AMO in a timely manner, even when they’ve been ready for months.
Don’t deny yourself its functionality, David. It’s not a development build anymore.
Edit: Since I don’t want the “bleeding edge” either, I take a little more control and get my TMP build from its build directory, http://tmp.garyr.net/dev-builds/. tab_mix_plus-0.3.7.4pre.090516.xpi is the one I’m talking about, and happens to be the latest too.
If you’ve already upgraded to 3.51, you’ll find a few won’t install.
I’m sure that individual add-on developers are working overtime to satisfy your overwhelming need for updates.
If you subscribe to Steve Bass’s Weekly Newsletter, you already know about this.
If you don’t maybe it’s time to sign up. IMHO, his newsletter deserves a plug.
Check your Host file ( www.aweber.com is sceduled to be removed from the list but hasn’t been done yet )
You and YoKenney apparently use the same host file security program.
I can’t believe this one made in into the list of 10 Super-Duper Firefox Extensions:
I searched and couldn't believe Firefox was missing a valuable Internet Explorer feature: A way to run a downloaded app immediately rather than download it. OpenDownload takes care of the problem by adding "Open with Win32 application" from Firefox's download dialog. [Thanks, Todd.]
The last thing I want to do is run an installation file in a single click download&install. There was me thinking that firefox not doing this was a security feature and not missing a valuable IE feature
I only have two of the 10 and don’t find the other 8 super or duper ;D
Many users, myself included, visit YouTube on an almost daily basis. Ever since Firefox version 2.0 implemented the session restore function,
when you are watching a video on YouTube (perhaps on other video sites as well, I haven't really tested that), you may notice a tiny freeze-up
of the video every 10 seconds or so. This happens because the session restore is by default set to save all open tabs every 10 seconds.
This is especially noticeable if you happen to have a lot of tabs open at once.
The quick fix for this problem, at least for my own sake, is to increase the time between each of the saves performed by session restore.
By opening about:config in your Firefox address bar, then typing browser.sessionstore.interval in the filter box, you’ll see a value of 10000,
which is in milliseconds. (Meaning your session is saved every 10 seconds.) I changed this to 300000, or every 5 minutes, as I don’t have the
urgent need for tab restoration. If you feel like being more on the safe side, try increasing it to something a bit lower, say 120000, or every 2 minutes.
