80000000.@ Malware Issue

Hi, I am having similar problems to others with the Win32:Malware-gen and Win32:Trojan-gen. As the other posts say that the solution is relevant for that particular system and no other, I thought I would post separately.

Can someone please assist with how to remove this? Deleting the file seems to have to effect.

Thanks

you need to do as everyone else…give us the logs

i see some symantec files in there… do you have norton antivirus installed

Norton was installed but was removed a number of days ago. All I can suggest is that these files were left behind?

You will need to use the Norton removal tool

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

FINALLY

run farbar service scanner
