Double checked flash… Frst is on there but pc f8 doesnt bring up what you are asking for

As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key untilAdvanced BootOptions appears.
Use the arrow keys to select the Repair your computer menu item.

This doesnt happen

Are you able to boot as if to Safe Mode but choose Last Know Good Configuration?

All go to a black screen with the mouse pointer and never change.

Download the following three programmes to your desktop :

  1. WiNTBootIc
  2. Windows RC
  3. FRST64

Extract wintoboot to your desktop
Insert a USB drive of at least 1GB
Run Wintoboot

Drag and drop the Windows Vista ISO to the programme in the space indicated
Tick the Format box and accept the warnings
Press Do It

You will see it progressing

It will let you know when it is done
Then copy FRST64 to the same USB

Insert the USB into the sick computer and start the computer. First ensuring that the system is set to boot from USB

When you reboot you will see this.
Click repair my computer

Select your operating system

Select Command prompt

At the command prompt type the following :

notepad and press Enter.
The notepad opens. Under File menu select Open.
Select “Computer” and find your flash drive letter and close the notepad.
In the command window type e:\FRST64.exe and press Enter
Note: Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.
The tool will start to run.

Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the flash drive. Please copy and paste it to your reply.

on my “damaged” pc i see advanced boot options with
safe mode
safe mode w/ net
safe mode w/ cmd prmt

enable boot logging
enable low res
last known good config
dir. services restore mode
debugging mode
disable automatic restart on system failure
disable driver signature enforcement

start windows normally

…last known does the same as others blank black screen with the mouse pointer and the pointer is moveable but nothing on the screen , i let this stay like this for about 20 minutes, nothing every happened

Do you have your installation disk?

i do not. i believe this to be the pc that was all preloaded and no disk. i have asked friends for a vista 64bit disk and am still hopeful lol

Ok yes that would be great. Unfortunately this problem we are having is more than likely the result of the ZeroAccess infection that was on your system and this is part of the damage done by it. The ZeroAccess rootkit is one of the worst infections out there and the damage to a system always varies so we never know how a computer is going to act.

Are you able to see Windows at all in any mode?

Ok....see if you can get that disk so that we can use it and hopefully repair what the infection has broken.
