In C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log I see 16.000 .dmp files with a total size of 9 GB :o
Questions:
What is the purpose of those files?
Can I config the max amount?

Interesting. Are those files named as unpXXXXX.* (e.g. unp239381106.tmp.mdmp)?
Yes they all start with unpXXXXXXX.dmp, I already removed twice over 15k of files.
In that case, I found this link (https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=586#idt_05). And it says…
After a computer crash, avast! service can leave memory dump file (*.mdmp) in the following location: C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\
Thanks for the quick reply.
I checked my windows sys logs no crash entries, also C:\Windows\Minidump no memory dumps there. ???
So what is Avast thinking…
Indeed. Maybe some Avast developer sees this thread and tells more.
You could upload a few to our FTP. Most probably they are all one and the same crash - which apparently happens frequently as hell on your system!
I’m sorry Lukor I needed the space so shift delete. If it reoccurs I will do so.
