a backdoor trojan?

As I was scanning with Spybot, this showed up,(SHOWWND.EXE), on my Winpatrol it is a start up program, so on the winpatrol plus information this is what was written, This file is categorized as a backdoor trojan as greatis.com. We’d recommend removing this file using WinPatrol. and I also checked it out on google search page that it might not be a virus, so I have disabled it, What should I do?

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. You can’t do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.
Or VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner

If it is detected by multiple AVs or not by avast!
If you are not getting a virus warning and you believe it’s a new or undetected virus, then if you can zip and password protect (‘virus’, will do) the suspect file and send it to virus @ avast.com (no spaces).

Give a brief outline of the problem, the fact that you believe it to be a new or undetected virus and include the password in the body of the email. Some info on the avast version and VPS number (see about avast {right click avast icon}) will also help.

Thanks for that info, I will do that now, Thanks
