I agree that this event may have some secondary relevance in the memorability of the date… however: there have been tens and tens of royal weddings in the past 9 decades, but only one german icehockey victory over Russia.

and now my wedding day will be easy to remeber…it was the day germany beat Russia in hockey ;D
