I have a Plextor PX-740A DVD-RW drive for 4 years now and it worked perfectly until last week when I tried to burn one small file (a 761 KB PDF file) on a CD-R. It was constantly reporting errors and couldn’t burn it. I have a Nero 6 SE for burning (came with the drive - OEM). Is it possible that a problem is in the small size of the file or do you think that my DVD-RW drive is broken? Later I bunt that file on a CD-R on an other PC and it did fine. What do you think?
This seems to be a hardware problem - or the blank disc used was faulty.
But you can try to download CDBurnerXP (it is a free software and burns just about everything, don’t let the name including ‘CD’ and ‘XP’ fool you) and burn that file again on a new blank disc and see if that works.
+1
I burned some pictures I took with my digital camera and burned them with CDBurnXP and will be taking them to a professional copy place to get nice colored prints made.
I tried it on several CD-Rs. So, it seems that my trusty Plextor is going away soon… Well, thank you for the help!
