A Few problems.

Ok, first off, just recently I have noticed that I can no longer double click or right click on the avast tray icon. Double clicking does not bring up anything, and when I right click I get no menu.

The second aggravation I have is that when I install the Netserver Client on a server, the standard shield provider does not install. It will install the others fine, but just seems to leave that one out. Back when I could right click and see something, the network shield and web shield would be running fine and there was no option to even start or stop the standard shield. Also, the globe doesn’t rotate on file access, so I am assuming it’s not installed.

This is the same AMS install which was previously working fine. These problems just kind of appeared out of nowhere. Does anyone have any idea of what’s going on here? In the meantime, is there any way I can get to the menu which is normally produced by double clicking the tray icon? I need to configure the providers that were intalled on a server before these problems started, and now I can’t get to that menu anymore.

Please help,

Les

Anybody? ??? :-[

Edit: The standard shield problem has been addressed by avast support. It appears there is a bug in the current release that they hope to have fixed in an upcoming release version. They gave me a work around temporarily until they get the update out.

As far as I know, the managed client software, by default, prevents any actions with the system tray icon. If you right-click, you should NOT get a menu.

As far as I know, it can be configured in ADNM, however (to allow the menu, I mean).
