Hello there I have a few questions per each topic. If any folks could kindly answer them I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Btw I may curse a little so please excuse my language.

Question topic 1.

Does avast automatically bill you every year and renew it automatically/recurring etc? It seems my avast updated it self recently and gave it self another full year which is fine because I was gonna do it anyways. Just curious usually over the years I have to do it my self and now it seems it did it by it self.

Question topic 2 and this is a big one.

And please don’t judge me. I was looking up some porn lesbians etc stumbled onto a site and a pop up came up claiming that my computer is detained and I seen it said my IP address it had a photo of Obama or whatever and some weird s**t saying It’s not autoritzed and I seen it say child porn on the pop up. So I tried to X out of it and minimize out to alt f 4 it and it wouldn’t let me it kept popping back up. So what I did was I shut my comp down really fast and so far it seems fine.

I ain’t no pedofile. fk outta here with that st they ain’t gonna be framin me for nothing lol. But yeah please don’t judge me for looking up porn just trying to find some lesbian stuff… been a while since I been in a relation ship and a dude’s gotta get his fix lol …anyways sorry if to much information. Pretty much these sites ain’t safe. So I looked up if anyone else had this issue in google and I heard there is something called ransomware or some weird ass virus or malware thing where it’s a hacker posing as someone some s**t?

My questions is my comp gonna be safe now? It seems to be working fine now. I am even doing a scan. Why is it that my avast didn’t stop me and tell me this site is not safe like it usually does?

(btw I am typing this as the scan is going on and nothing has been found so far no infected files about 60 percent way done)

Question topic 3.

Pretty much what topic 2 was now I ain’t to bright when it comes to virus’s/malware and what not which is why I use avast so it keeps me safe from all of these things. can avast detect BOTH malware and virus’s on my PC god forbid anything has been put on my PC? If so or if not please inform me on if I am fine with that or if I need something else

Question topic 4.

Few months back I updated my avast and it changed and it gave me these new feature called ‘‘avast safezone’’

Now I haven’t used it yet for searching stuff. I’ve only opened it once or twice in the past. I am thinking about using it. I assume it’s for banking related stuff? Now say If I am using this will I be 100 percent safe when going to bank sites etc? Is that why this was created?

Anyways to anyone who has read all of this. I would greatly appreciate it if you folks can kindly answer each of my 4 topics with all of the questions/paragraphs I wrote. Please do let me know.

btw one more thing, users on another forum I was asking told me I should get malwarbytes? Would this work with avast? if so what version and link if I do need this. Please let me know thank you.

As far as question #2 is concerned, I tell my customers that if anything weird like that pops up on their screen, DON’T CLICK ON IT! They’re crafting alot of these popups so that even if you click the little x in the corner to close, you’re still clicking on the popup. Instead, hit CTRL/ALT/DEL (all 3, in that order) which brings up Task Manager, highlight the offending popup or page and End Task. Even if it closes all pages, that’s OK, close them anyway. Then immediately clean up junk files and run scans on your computer to make sure you didn’t pick anything up BEFORE you reboot or restart your computer. Rebooting or restarting your computer sets alot of potential malware in motion, so make sure you run the cleanup and scans beforehand.

As far as I know, Malwarebyte’s Anti-malware and Avast will run together just fine, I have the free version which provides no real-time protection, so I can’t testify to their paid version running in the background alongside Avast, but I’m pretty sure they run fine together.

Avast and Malwarebytes work good together, i run Avast free and MBAM 2 public beta just fine.

  1. avast will remind you that your paid product needs to be renewed with about four weeks remaining.
  2. Never, ever click on any pop-up of “unknown” origination.
  3. Any and all avast products, free or paid, work great with MalwareBytes.

Yeah, be careful with Porn. It is dangerous. Anyways, Yeah, don’t do anything except Cntrl Alt Del when it comes to that. It can mess your computer up.

Malwarebytes + Avast! work great, but to be safe, whitelist each program in both programs.

Avast! Will detect anything known. Deepscreen should pick most of the unknown stuff on execution if it’s malicious. However, if you do get infected. Be sure to report the files to Avast! via Virus Chest or @ virus@avast.com so it can be added to the Blacklist.
