I see it as another way to throw away $15.00 per month.

Some banks are now issuing a reader style device for internet purchases, which will generate a number which you can use once. Anyone trying to use it again will be refused/blocked, etc. I don’t know if any attempt to use more than once will trigger any form of tracking of that attempt.

Unfortunately my bank currently doesn’t support or issue these readers. But, I certainly wouldn’t pay $15 (or equivalent) per month for anything like this. There are a lot more on-line retailers now accepting paypal and now google is trying to get in on the act with Google Checkout with a similar service.
