I just downloaded the Avast free home version this evening and I am wondering if it is working right as when I had AVG for my virus protection I would always get a message at the bottom of an email when I sent it out saying this email has been scanned by AVG…etc. Also the same when bringing in emails. I don’t have that statement on Avast now. Should there be one? Is it working properly? Please help.

That is just advertising fluff.
avast! scans all incoming and outgoing emails for viruses that is knows about.
Agreed. I think Avast has a feature like that as well. Question is…who wants it? ;D
Well avast does provide that option, should you choose to use it. I use it on outbound email for no other reason than to promote avast.
