A very minor problem

Avast creates one or two “JET_ _ _ .tmp" files (the "” changes at re-boot when new files are created) in the windows\temp directory. However, the previous files are not being deleted. Even though they are size=o, and not being used. This creates a build up of empty files in the directory. It certainly is not a problem or issue for me, I just thought I’d let you know what I’ve found.

There are always two JET_ _ _ _.tmp files in use in the windows/temp directory. I know that at least one of them is created by Avast, as it is deleted if I “Stop on-access protection and exit”, and returns if I re-activate protection. It may be a problem with Windows itself, and not a missing step in Avast at all.

My OS is Win98 2nd Edition

Try updating the MS ODBC/Jet drivers. That should help.
