a virus that's not a virus ¬.¬

Avast found a Nutcracker “virus” in D:\Program Files\Folding@Home\work\wudata_00.chk. I also use AVG Antivirus and I scanned the \work\ directory and there was no virus detected by AVG. my Avast VPS version is 0550-0, 12/10/2005 and my AVG Internal Virus Database is version 267.13.13/197 released on 12/09/2005. I am highly doubting that the wudata_00.chk is a virus …
I made a copy of the file and have it sitting in my `virus O_o’ folder. is there some place that I can upload it to see if the file really is a virus or if Avast is just blowing smoke out it’s hoohah? :-\

Hi and welcome,
You can give it a run through all the major scanners here
http://virusscan.jotti.org/ and post back what they find

I went there and also went here ( suggested via PM by Turkey, thank you  ) and both of the Avast scanners caught it, none of the other virus scanners didn’t. I’ve posted to the Folding@Home board to see if they know anything about it. so far not sure what else to do

You can send this file to virus[at]avast[dot]com in password protected archive and write in the mail body that this file is detected as a false positive

It’s a false positive. It’s just a WU (Working unit) from Folding@home.
