AAVM have found an error in RPC

This is usually associated with having another AV installed or previously installed.

Did you have another AV installed, if so what one?

–No another David. I have Spybot, Unhackme, aswclnr installed after the problem.

Check how are set your avast! services:
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

I suppose you have to have four avast! services:

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe (avast! antivirus service)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashUpdSv.exe (avast! Update Service)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe (avast! Web Scanner service)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe (avast! e-Mail Scanner service)

The two first of them should be Automatic loaded and the two last Manually loaded.

I’ve done with no success…

Generally, RPC error is generally related to other antivirus present (like David posted) or, at least, firewall blocking.
RPC error may also be because of avast! services being stopped as I’ve said.

–Firewall is ok, i’don’t know about stopped services but i have never stopped them

Anyway, RPC error is most likely correct by this procedure:
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the pop up window (Repair).

I have done with no success

I have another problem in my pc : Win 2k Installer does not work maybe is the real problem?

Isn’t it a problem? Maybe it blocked the avast startup items (ashdisp.exe and the services).

What have you done?

Which firewall? Why are you saying it’s ok?
You could have other programs that block avast services… even whithout your knowleage…

Sure… this could be THE problem.
Can’t you update your Windows Installer into Microsoft Windows Update site?

Firewall Sygate personal –

I have Installer 2.0 , i have tried to re-install it but Win2k said me that is installed yet.
How i can re-install or update installer if Microsoft site said me that i have problem with installer ?

I have noted installer 3.0 maybe only for WXP. Isn’t it?
