Can someone please tell me how to fix this. I have no protection and when I click on FIX THIS, nothing happens. I even installed Avast again, but still the same message. Thank you

Download the full virus definitions update and apply it seems to correct this.

what if that don’t fix the problem?

I ran the fix but failed to complet :“Error reading data from C\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\setup\part set up-ais-577.vpx” setup cannot continue" what can I do next?

Thanks Tec. Ran the fix several times but still faced with same error message plus error 0(0000000) has occured. Last performed operation was:spawning.

  1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
