Abandoned by Avast - Help

I have multiple licences of Avast. All have future renewal dates. However my Windows 10 laptop, after months of Avast protection, is now unsecured.

The Avast app says " Unexpected Error An unexpected error occurred on the server, we are working on the solution." Has done for 2 days.

If I go to the website, login in, and download a license file it says “The signature is invalid”.

Any thoughts most welcome.

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Asyn thanks for the suggestion but that process makes no difference.

Perform a clean installation of avast.

  • Remove all folders/files
  • Remove all registry entries
  • Reboot
  • Install the latest avast version

  • Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • Which version…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Eddy and Asyn tx again. I’l have to get back to this. Too much work to do so switching to another laptop. But I’l get back to it later.

As a snip it Asyn the license is fully paid for and has run happily for months. Avast was loaded from new. 32 bit. But more later

Well back up and running. Went Eddy’s route and removed all reference to avast and then went for a clean install. So sadly I do not know what caused the issue or what the issue was. Luckily only one virus got in while I was unprotected and that was soon destroyed.

But despite using AVAST for years never been here - this forum - before so good to know there is help on hand if needed. Cheers
