Yeah i was wondering the exact same thing. It would be nice for avast! to upgrade fully automatic, but it will complete the update process on next normal restart/startup without user interaction.
Adding an option to let the user choose wheather a program update should be done fully automaticly or not (eg automatic reboot without asking) shouldn’t be hard to implement.
You all know the problems of delaying a boot while updating a delicate and complex application like antivirus, firewall and so on…
Common users will mess the things, updates will come over updates, temporary files left behing…

So, this could be possible in a future version?
Thanks
It might not make any difference, of course (see how knowledgeable I am?
), but I do like to do one thing before rebooting and that’s a “clean” disconnect of my dialup connection.
Intuitively it feels better than just having Win disconnect as part of its shutdown routine, even if there’s no difference in the end-result at all, just the “right” buttons pushed to get there.
I think not. It’s a matter of Windows boot configuration and not avast. Windows does not start programs and services in a predeterminated order…
No other antivirus could handle it so, I don’t think avast must be the first one.
I’m not refering to the windows startup order, but to make a program update without user intervention and don’t reboot.
Oh, I see, sorry :-[ :-[
I think that if any setting was possble, it will be at [iAVS] section in value AskReboot. When 1 avast will ask for reboot when needed, when 0 it won’t ask.
Maybe -1 ;D
It would be very nice ;D
