Access internet then further access is blocked

I have . I can access the internet. Using Mozilla Firefox and/or Safe Zone. Then when I attempt to access a web page such as avast it is blocked.

The response that I get is The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.

If your computer or network is protected by firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

I went to the same web sites on this computer and everything went through to the site. Also, the wireless reads excellent signal strength.

If anyone has suggestions, let me know

So the problem only appears when you are using safezone ?
What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)

I have the same problems when I access Mozilla Firefox as well as Safe Zone. I have Avast 2015 and windows XP the same on this computer that I am using now. Currently I read to do a Boot Scan for errors. the computer is in that mode at this time. I can access Mozilla for any info I need, but cannot access any further web sites

Does a other browser work ?

Nothing is accessible except for the homepage -startpage on Mozilla and Google on Safe zone. When I try to access ebay for example cannot be accessed on Firefox and safe zone

I am asking if a other browser is working.
e.g. IE, Opera, Safari or…

I never used those. I have used internet explorer and that have the same problem. I access internet explorer no problem. The I attempt to access ebay website to no avail.

I can do a search with startpage for ebay or avast. then I get a list of ebay choices or avast choices. Then I try to do a search with one of the searches and then I get that message in my first post

Follow the instructions there and let us have a look.

I will try your suggestion.

Thank you for your time.

I will post and let you know.

I have Malwarebytes i will run a scan

I ran the scan and there did not exist any issues. Scan was perfect

FYI. This computer is not the computer with the internet access problem

You do have to run the tools on the computer with the problem.
If/when needed use something like a usb stick to get the tools there.

Can you explain this step for me.

I tried to do a command prompt to type in netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

and each time the command prompt would not recognize this prompt

This is what I typed after

C:\Documents ans Settings|Admin>netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Pardon the typo on the last post

after I typed this the black screen read C:\Documents ans Settings|Admin>

1]
Get the tools

2]
Run them on the system with the problem

3]
Attach the logs they have created to your next post here.

Could you explain where I can find the tools

You can find all information here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Could you explain where I can find the tools
Did you even read the instructions in the link I gave you ?

I found the problem. I turned off the Web Shield and I gained access to the internet all web sites that I wanted to go to. Therefore, I believe that I have to uninstall avast and re-install the program
