Accessing anti-theft when AMS is not installed.

How do you access anti-theft on a tablet if you choose to un-install AMS?

The reason I ask is that I recently had to un-install AMS on my phone - it was slowing the phone down to an unusable state and continually flagging an “Avast is protecting you” notification (I think it was to do with recent changes to the file shield, but that’s another problem).

On the phone you can dial the PIN, but on a tablet there’s no dialer.
I currently access it by tapping on the AMS notification, but if AMS is removed what do you do?,
the anti-theft App icon itself is hidden.

Hello,

you can look for the hidden name in your app manager (in phone settings).
you can also reinstall Mobile Security and use the uninstall wizard (in mobile security settings).

Yes, I see the hidden name under settings / apps, but you can’t open the app from there, or at least I don’t see any way to do so. There’s just options for “Clear cache”, “Clear defaults” etc.

I don’t want to uninstall it, just access the settings.

Ok, so i got you wrong. You can open Anti-Theft using the internet portal my.avast.com

if your tablet is capable of receiving SMS, you can also send yourself a command sms to open the interface

2222 launch
(replace 2222 with own avast! PIN)

will open the interface.
