account not recognising subscription already taken

So i discovered password manager on the free version and have been using it, was worried what would happen if pc breaks so was recommended to create an account and that could save in cloud?? so i went to avast account created an account, but it tells me i have no subs. went onto my avast free antivirus box ,went to my licences, and signed in to my account from there, which takes me back to the account web page, and that i have no subscriptions. ::). do i have to reinstall from the account page, will this recognise my passwords and swap them over ???any help please. and if you know how to save the passwords into a cloud somewhere for retrieval if all goes wrong that would be wonderful. :-*

Hi ajdstitch,

The subscriptions page in the Avast account only shows subscriptions for paid licenses. It is not necessary to have a subscription to use the synchronization function to backup your Passwords

Now that you’ve set up an account, please see this support article which will walk you through the synchronization/backup of your passwords into the cloud: https://support.avast.com/article/255/

thank you, it says sync is turned on  i assume it is synced in avast cloud somewhere as i do not have any cloud accounts !!! so, if i go and get a new computer and download the avast back on will something come up that instructs me to retrieve the passwords? p.s i absolutely hate the verification, the letters are unreadable and i don’t have speakers on this pc.

Verification capacha is for spam protection, but is only required for your first 3 posts.

Hi ajdstitch,

I can see that you have successfully synced the logins with our servers now, so you’re all set

If you install Avast on a new computer, you simply need to turn on the synchronization in Passwords once you have re-downloaded the application. It will ask you to log into your Avast account (the same account that you use to access this forum), and then it will ask you to enter a code that will be sent to you on an email. Once that is done, it will download all of the logins from our servers onto the new computer for you.

You can find full instructions for the process in our FAQs here if needed: https://support.avast.com/article/255/#idt_020
