I installed avast MS on my rooted mobile.
I created an account on the web.
But I can’t add my account (or create new one) in MS Avast settings. A pop-up window appears and disappears instantly and nothing is recorded.
Avast version: upgraded on 2.0.2750
Android version: 2.1

Believe I have or had the same issue.
Same problem here with HTC Legend running Android 2.1
I had this problem before 10mins. Go to your Market, and update antivirus. Not from Avast app, but from Market. It will help. 
My app seems to be up to date : no update on the market.
there is a missing error message (fixed in next release). Google Cloud Messaging does not support Android 2.1 so we can not support Android 2.1 for the web portal. You need at least Android 2.2
