AcroRd32.exe "infected file" threat keeps showing up in quarantine when scan

After running a full system scan I got “infected file” that showed up and was quarantined, its name is AcroRd32.exe in the folder
Documents and settings\allusers\application/Adobe\Setup{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-A9500000000}\Data1.cab.

But each time I run the scan, even back to back scans, it shows up again and goes to quarantine, the same exact file. In quarantine under “virus” it will say Win32:Malaware-gen, but when I right click that and choose scan, it says “no virus.” If I go directly to the Adobe folder under Documents/Settings, the only file that scans as infected by Avast is Data1.cab. When I scanned it with Malware BYtes, it said ‘no malicious items.’ If I delete this file I’m afraid Adobe won’t work right. Any idea what’s going on? please advise.

Hey!

It sounds like a false threat because avast have been showing false threat to some adobe reader files in the past. But to be on the safe side please fallow this guide and post the result here.

that is why you should never delete but move to quarantine......then you have the option to restore

cab is a compressed file, and malwarebytes does not scan inside compressed archives
