I’m running window on a virtual machine, via VMWare Fusion, on a MAC and have Avast antivirus installed to Windows 8.1.
I’ve installed “Act! Premium (Web) Version 17.0.151.0” by Sage on my VMWare Machine.
Sage needs to access Port Forwarding in order to allow the database to be accessed from by other computers via the web.
VMWare is hosted on an iMac with Yosemite operating system.
Act! support service tried to set up port forwarding for “port 80” but were unsuccessful and told me this is an issue with the virtual machine I’ve looked into it a bit further and think Avast may be blocking the facility to access the relational database on my machine? The support person said: -
"As per phone conversation we have now exhausted our knowledge of port forwarding to your virtual Windows on you MAC.
This issue is (as far as we can tell) is not being caused by Act!, though Act! uses port 80 for the web access and therefore this needs to be forwarded on the router to the virtual machine.
In a typical Act! install on a PC, we would log in to the router and put a rule in to forward port 80 to the internal IP address of the PC hosting the Act! database.
As you have a virtual machine on your MAC the setup is a little different and we haven’t been able to successfully forward port 80, this will require an understanding of networking to set up."
I’d be grateful if you could give me any help to solve the problem :o
Thank you.
