I’ve just installed Anti-Theft and this error appeared. Why?
I have the same problem.
Phone: Huawei Ascend Y300
Android: 4.1
Non rooted
Avast last updated 30th of July
Avast : 2.0.4993
Anti theft version: 2.0 Build 4838
I’ve tried to update but I get the message that I already have the latest version installed.
Another thing is that the “Phone number” has reverted to an old number from a SIM card that is no longer present in the phone.
Both numbers has been set as trusted, both the SIM card not present in the phone and the SIM card present in the phone.
Any suggestions?
Best regards
I am having this same message but when trying to use one of the web based commands – Take a Picture… for example.
It is maddening because all the software seems to be properly updated. I have the premium service and even uninstalled and installed the Avast mobility and Anti-virus program on my HTC ONE X+ from the play store.
Is there someone who has a solution to this please??
Thanks.
I have the same issue after swapping SIMs with my wife’s phone to trouble shoot it. Her’s now works but mine is alarming and I can’t shut it up as battery is non removable. HELP!
I tried entering what I thought was my pin but obviously isn’t correct as won’t unlock.
Tried resetting via My Avast but get this error:

Hello,
maybe the Anti-Theft version is too old. We can’t verify that - but it wouldn’t help anyway.
I’ll send you a how-to-unlock via email.

Werner
Hi Werner
Sorry to dig up such an old post. I’ve just dug out this old phone to recycle it. The issue still persists. After charging, the security feature activates stating the phone has been lost or stolen. The phone is no longer associated with an Avast account and I moved away from Orange to EE so I can’t send an unlock code to my emergency backup phone number. I’d just like to uninstall so the phone can be recycled. Could you resend details of how to do so via email. Thanks in advance.
Rob
Instructions on how to remove it are in the FAQ on the avast website.
