Hello im new to avast just bought it a few minutes ago i understand how to insert the license file into the program but the email just sent a license.dat file not a .avastlic file avast says its invalid iv’e tried renaming the extension to no avail like i said im new and ive been trying to look around here but it seems im the only one with the problem please help me out

Normally the license format it should be .avastlic not .dat.
But you may contact your vendor or avast sales team at : sales@avast.com

ya thats what i assumed but the link on my confirmation page and the email are both .dat files i was trying to find a solution now now wait for an email response this is very frustrating

I also have this problem: I purchased Avast Internet Security yesterday online at Avast website / element5 and my license is License.dat. Avast refuses it, asking for a license called License.avastlic which was not sent to me. Renaming License.dat to License.avastlic also doesn’t work. Error code is 2000001a Invalid License.
Second day and no reply from either Avast or from Element5. Anybody can help?
Who did you contact at avast ?
If not sales (at) avast (dot) com, then that is who I suggest you contact as they should be able to retrieve your purchase information and resend the license file if needs be.
