I am getting nag screens saying my subscription ends in 12 days. I bought a 2 yr subscription and received a receipt and activation file. There is no registration key to use manually . When I insert the file (which I have tried numerous times) I am told it has been successful, yet the nag screens are still coming thick and fast.
Does this mean a) I endure the nag screens until the subscription is finished then insert new file
or b) I have to uninstall my program, reinstall it and then register it, which is stupid.
I have written twice to Avast. The only response was a standard letter to tell me how to download the program. I assumed they misunderstood my question and wrote again but received no answer.
Would appreciate some suggestions. >
PS I find it almost impossible to decipher the words to send this post. I’m asked to have another go and then told I’d already sent it.(and it doesn’t appear) This happened twice. I’ve reposted and apologise if it appears twice.
What avast version do you have 7.0.1426, Pro or AIS ?
Check your system date and ensure that it is correct, day/month/year and adjust as required.
Have you actually input the license file, saving the license.avastlic that you should have received by email (or link to it) to your hard drive. Then double click on the license.avastlic file and it should do it for you.
Thanks for answering. I have Avast Internet Security 7.0.1426 on my computer which runs out in 12 days. I’ve bought a two year licence for 3 computers. I saved the licence file to my desk top. Double clicked it and it asked me if I wanted to enter the file. I said yes and then it says I am successfull. Still getting nagged.
Yay! I fixed it. I’m not sure how. I saved the license to my desktop again and tried to insert it and this time it worked. I’m not sure but I may have renamed the licence file so I knew what it was. One of the files was labelled “unknown”?
