Hi, i tried to activate the avast free anti virus on my pc again. But when i click on the red activation knob and then select the free version it does nothing. It keeps saying that i need to activate my licence.
i tried to uninstall and install avast free anti virus but it keeps the same.
can somone help ?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member. I also have been using Avast Antivirus Free for over 21 years, my renewal was in February. This has always been a bit of a bun fight, but be careful not to click a subscribe to Avast Premium, etc. As the date gets within 14 days I believe, you start getting these notifications and offering other paid products.
Avast Free like many other products/companies is what is called freemium, use the fre product and hope to transfer to one of the paid products. So there is always going to be some push in that direction.
Uninstalling won’t help unless you do a ‘clean reinstall’ (requiring a special tool run from Windows safe mode) and use a different email address or it will know.
For me the best options was to allow the date to get much closer and it should auto update.
